Housing Assistance

Mansfield Housing Authority - (508) 339-6890. The Mansfield Housing Authority offers several housing subsidies and assistance programs to eligible applicants to help make housing more affordable.

 

Massachusetts Residential Assistance for Families in Transition (RAFT) - (617) 573-1100. The Residential Assistance for Families in Transition (RAFT) program provides short-term emergency funding to help with eviction, foreclosure, loss of utilities, and other housing emergencies.

OTHER SERVICES

Mansfield Social Services - (508) 261-7464. Provides assistance to families, individuals, and children in the areas of food, utility assistance, clothing, and housing/rental availability and information, and referral on a variety of other services.  Assistance is available to help individuals who are in crisis due to a family or work related situation and is based on income eligibility.

 

Mansfield Council on Aging - (508) 261-7464. A multi-faceted human services department which services the needs of all elders, age 60 and over. Community based services available include: Education/Art and Social Events, Employment Opportunities Through the Tax Work off Program, Health and Wellness Programs, Legislative up-Dates, Outreach Services, Site and Home-Delivered Meals, Transportation, and Volunteer Programs.

 

Veterans’ Services - (508) 851-6411. Administers the Veterans Program per Chapter 115 of Massachusetts General Law as well as renders assistance to those who are eligible for federal benefits from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

 

West Side Benevolent Circle - westsidebcinfo@gmail.com.  A local organization offering the Gifts of Hope program, that provides holiday gifts to Mansfield children. The organization also provides free lunches to Mansfield students in the summer and provides fuel and rent assistance on an as needed basis.

 

The Literary Center - theliteracycenter.com (508) 455-5382.  Provides classes, counseling, and support to disadvantaged adults to help them reach self-sufficiency. For some, this involves learning English. Others are pursuing their GED. TLC also provides career counseling, computer training, one-on-one tutoring, and assists people who are preparing to take the U.S. Citizenship exam.

 

Pave Your Path - https://paveyourpath.org/  (774) 331-8005.  Serves women living in poverty or at great risk of falling into poverty. Pave Your Path offers 1-1 coaching and workshops to help low-income women achieve economic self-sufficiency and emotional self-reliance. Through workshops ranging from financial wellness to mindfulness, we aim to give access to skill-building and resources not typically available to people living in poverty.  We are advocates and thought leaders working to improve policies impacting those experiencing poverty.
